Thank you Demo Girl
February 11th, 2008I happened across a blog entry and screencast of Ript that Molly McDonald of Demo Girl created. I don’t know Molly, but am flattered that she took the time to put together such a nice demo.
Molly rightly points out that we don’t have a way to resize the pile view. This is something we’ve heard from some users, but haven’t put into the app yet.
Molly also points out that it is not entirely clear that you can resize text scraps like image scraps. To do this, click once on the text box and drag the edges. To modify the word wrapping, click the text scrap twice and drag the adorner on the right of the text box.

Thanks Demo Girl for helping to spread the word about Ript. Hope you enjoy using it.
Changing font size in Ript
February 6th, 2008I noticed that we are receiving a lot of feedback about the desire to change the font size on Ript. Instead of using “font size” we thought it felt better to resize a text scrap to increase/decrease size. That way, there is no font size, just the size you want it to be
So, if you want to change the size of your text select the scrap, mouse over one of the corners and drag to resize. You can adjust the wrap around width by double clicking the text and making the editable area wider or smaller.
I hope this helps and thanks for the feedback!!

Get Ript on the Internet
December 1st, 2007Here is another video we came up with to spread the word about Ript. I especially like this one because it ties back to the idea that there should be a way to “rip” images and text from the web and your computer as easily as you can rip ideas from your favorite magazines. Take a look and let us know what you think.
Special thanks to Jean Candiotte, Mark Sullivan, Casey Conner, Sue Able, John Jenkins, Heather Ben-Zvi, Miku, Crystal McIntosh, Liz Simons, Dane Lawing, Annette Powlis, Pete McGill, Lesley Mallgrave, John Guglielmetti, Brad Schirmer, Maria Cullati, Davida Adams, Maria McNamara, Tom Greco, Hallie Barrows, Delroy Morris, and Walter Elliot for making this happen.
Ript is the Word!
December 1st, 2007We are always looking for entertaining ways to spread the word about Ript. Luckily we know a really talented team who helped us create this video to get people interested in checking our software out. Take a look and let us know what you think.

Some ways to use Ript this holiday season
November 29th, 2007(1) Create a personalized holiday card that you can’t buy at the store
Ript is great if you create order custom cards every year. You no longer have to feel frustrated by the long upload time and restrictive templates. Make the card first, save it as an image, and use your favorite photo site or store to print them.
No CAPS please
November 15th, 2007We’re delighted to see more people using Ript and blogging about their experiences. Thanks to all who are helping spread the word!
If you do write about the application, we’d love it if you can call it “Ript” and not “RIPT”. It’s not an acronym (and R.I.P. is a very well-known acronym that’s totally unrelated to our Simple, Useful, Fun mission) so we like to stick with Title Case and call it our favorite visual planning tool “Ript”.
Hearing from you makes our day!
November 6th, 2007We love hearing from our Ript users. Ricky sent the the following message through our feedback page and his comments made our team cheer.
“I Have Just tried this software and its absolutely fab! i would expect to pay for software like this. i was suprised to find out it was free. it runs very smoothly even when the PC seems loaded. The design is clean and the interface is easy to navigate. i like the rip effect around images and text boxes - it all adds to the great Ript effect.
Keep It Up! who knows what a company as cool as this will come up with in the future :-)”
Ricky, thank you for making our day!!! We also appreciate everyone who has sent us their feedback. We carefully consider your comments when prioriting what to build next.
Another Nice Blog Post
November 2nd, 2007This one is from David Solivan, Architect Evangelist at Microsoft.
I’ve been waiting to see how developers would use these new tools to rock our world. One of the first apps I’ve seen that does a pretty good job is Ript. Ript is a simple, but addictive application from the good people at Oxygen… (more)
Thank you for trying our application!
