Whenever you click on a link that says, "Email Us" or when you use the Email feature in Ript, your computer uses whatever program you’ve set as the default for email.

On the left side of the dialogue, Windows displays a list of applications. Scroll through the list to find your email program. Note : Windows will list every email client you have installed on your machine in this space. Your computer came with Windows Mail installed. If you don’t like Windows Mail, you can download a mail client called Thunderbird for free here. Windows mail does not support Hotmail, so if you are a Hotmail user, you should install Microsoft’s new Windows Live Mail, available here. | ![]() |

Once you’ve selected your mail client in the Programs window, Windows will ask you to set it as default. Click Set this program as default. If your primary email program is a webmail program (Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail, etc.) go on to the instructions for configuring your email client to access webmail. | ![]() |
Every webmail provider will allow you to check your webmail through an email client, but each has slightly different procedure for access..
